We have 11 clinics located throughout the River Region, 2 mobile clinics, and 4 school-based clinics in partnership with Montgomery Public Schools.

HSI is looking for a Senior Patient Account Representative to join our team. Our Senior Patient Account Reps. plays an integral part of our team, providing clinical and clerical support to our Providers and patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise patient account representatives and front desk clerks.
  • Monitor and reconcile daily activity of registration staff.
  • Schedule/coordinate annual and sick leave for patient representatives and front desk clerks.
  • Responsible for timely completion of employee performance evaluation for patient representatives and front desk clerks.
  • Order office supplies for front-end as needed from central supply.
  • Provide patients and/or outside agencies with printouts and billing statements upon request.
  • Responsible for training new employees.
  • Responsible for keeping patient representatives and front desk clerks informed of updates and changes that affect the quality of daily work.
  • Review hardship advisory for patients upon request to determine qualifications.
  • Travel to all HSI locations and visit employees on a weekly basis.
  • Review proper documentation forms to ensure patients have qualified for discounts.
  • Approve time and mileage sheets.
  • Responsible for performing registration duties in the absence of employees.
  • Supervise orderly and timely filing storage of all accounts receivable documents and reports so that they are properly labeled and easily accessible.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality as required by HSI’s handbook and HIPPA guidelines.
  • Facilitate the workflow to minimize disruptions to patients and clinical workflows.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Previous data entry experience.

3. Previous registration experience in health care setting.

4. Previous supervisory experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Combination of sitting, standing, walking, speaking and listening on a regular basis.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in managing patient access; registration, insurance, scheduling, telephones, work assignments, and customer service.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical intake and registration systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Schedule:

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Public health: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Supervising: 2 years (Required)

Willingness to travel:
