Optometry Technician
Job Summary
The Optometry Technician assists the Optometrist with routine eye examinations, diagnostics, treatment of vision problems, patient relations, and general administrative duties.
Essential Functions
Conduct basic routine testing and vision examinations.
Prepare patients for testing and clinical procedures.
Assist patients with eye care education, utilization of corrective eyewear, frame selection, and fitting.
Adjust and repair eyeglass frames and lenses.
Maintain vision and diagnostic equipment.
Manage clinical inventory and medical supplies.
Assist with scheduling patient visits, preparing insurance claims forms, and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Perform general clerical and administrative duties, along with other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications: CPR / BLS Certification required.
- Previous experience working in Optometry Clinic.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
